Jose’s fitness journey began during his time as a correctional officer, where physical strength was not just a requirement but a necessity. The gym quickly became his second home, helping him thrive in such a demanding environment. His passion for fitness grew even stronger during his years working on Texas oil rigs—another physically intense career that pushed his limits. It was during this time that Jose realized his true calling: to help others transform their lives through fitness.
After leaving the oil industry, Jose pursued his dream of becoming a personal trainer. He quickly excelled, training at Texas Family Fitness in Coppell, TX, where he became one of the top trainers within a year. His success led him to Lifetime Fitness in Allen, TX, where he continued to refine his skills and help clients achieve remarkable results. In 2017, Jose launched Fitness Minded to bring his vision to life—creating a studio where clients could achieve sustainable success in a supportive, one-on-one environment

Marvin is a dedicated and compassionate personal trainer with a passion for transforming lives through fitness. From an early age, Marvin discovered his love for fitness while engaging in various physical activities during his high school years, including weightlifting, running track, and playing sports. It was during this time that he realized his innate desire to help others, and he recognized fitness as the perfect avenue to make a positive impact.
Marvin faced a life-altering challenge when he experienced a severe injury during his MMA career, resulting in a broken neck and temporary paralysis from the neck down. This setback, however, did not dampen his spirit. In fact, it fueled his determination to overcome adversity and reclaim control over his own physical well-being. Through sheer resilience and unwavering dedication, Marvin regained his mobility and emerged stronger than ever.
Today, Marvin firmly believes that taking charge of one’s fitness level is the key to embracing all that life has to offer. With his own transformative journey as inspiration, he is committed to guiding and supporting clients on their own paths to self-improvement. Whether it’s through customized training programs, expert guidance, or unwavering motivation, Marvin empowers individuals to seize control of their health and embrace a vibrant, fulfilling life.
Randy Phuong is a dedicated fitness and nutrition coach at Fitness Minded, with over four years of experience helping clients transform their lives. Affectionately known as “Coach Randy,” he has worked with more than 100 clients, guiding them to improve not only their health and fitness but also their overall well-being. Whether it’s creating a custom meal plan, building sustainable habits, or achieving fitness goals, Randy provides the support and expertise needed to help clients succeed.
Randy’s passion for health and fitness stems from his personal journey. Having struggled with an eating disorder that included binging, overeating, and food addictions, he understands the challenges many people face. By immersing himself in the fitness industry and dedicating time to learning about health and nutrition, Randy overcame his struggles and now uses his experience to empathize with and inspire clients facing similar obstacles.
Randy’s unique approach combines his personal insights with a strong educational foundation. He holds three specialized certifications from the National Academy of Sports Medicine (NASM) and a Bachelor’s degree in Psychology from the University of Texas at Austin.
